Such a thoughtful hubby!!

My Christmas present this year was a day at the spa. Jason got me a prenatal spa package at Mindful Women Spa in Ogden. It was just what I needed. I was started out with a prenatal massage. That was very relaxing. I was thinking that when they do a massage you would be all exposed, which I am not a fan of, but they kept you covered the whole time. The only exposed parts were the part they were massaging at the time and they kept covered all the main parts you want covered. After the massage, they put an exfoliating rub on, which feels kinda like oil and sand mixed together. When that was finished I got to soak in a nice, warm milk bath for about 20 minutes. When I was finished my skin felt so soft and silky. Now I know why all those who can afford have a personal masseuse. When I was finished soaking it was time for my pedicure. I have never had a pedicure before so my feet feel very pampered right now and I got my toes painted a really bright red. It was a very nice relaxing morning. This was the first day in awhile that I didn't have a backache by the end of the day. I would highly recommend this to any of you who are pregnant or for when you do become pregnant.

Merry Christmas!!!

We had a fun Christmas this year. Brenna got lots of toys (I couldn't fit all of them in the shot, so there's more toys besides these). She has been wanting doll stuff so we got her doll size stroller, playpen, swing, high chair. She's so excited that she has things just like the baby and that she can do the same things that Mommy will be doing. She also got a new doll, some carebears, a Tinkerbell pillow, Tinkerbell movie, and lots of puzzles and games

Brenna wanted to have a new baby to take care of just like Mommy will have. I had Cabbage Patch dolls when I was little so I've kept it going with her and she's gotten one every year.

Brenna loves Carebears. It was hard finding one she doesn't already have but I actually manages to find 2!!
I spoiled Jason this year and got him a Wii.

I also tried my hand at making a homemade apple pie. I think for my first try it turned out pretty good. Sure, it wasn't the prettiest thing to look at, but it tasted pretty good. I've got cheesecakes, especially pumpkin cheesecake, down pretty good so now I'm on to the next step. I know this is a few days late, but MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! from the Hansen family.

Technical difficulties

Okay, so the computer had decided it doesn't like me right now. It won't let me load pictures onto the website. I can on other sites, no prob, but not here. I'll keep posting and working on getting pictures with them, so stay tuned for some cute pictures.

35 weeks!!

Yay!!! I only have a few more weeks to go!!! I am getting very anxious to meet our little guys and see how he fits into our family. I have a feeling he's going to be just his daddy.....he'll get in trouble and then give you that look and then you can't be mad at him. I'm hoping he'll be as good of a baby as Brenna was. My only complaint with her as a baby was she was always hungry so she never slept through the night, which means I never got to either. I am ready for him to come out. Life is getting a bit more uncomfortable now. By the time I finally get a comfortable posisitiont o sleep in at night, it's time for one my many nightly trips to the bathroom. I have no problems in the morning but by the afternoon he's settled down by my pelvic bone and it makes walking not so fun. I know I sound like I'm complaining but I am thankful for all of the discomfort because it means that I am able to carry a child and there are so many women out there who can't. It is wonderful feeling him move around inside me (except those times that he's getting my ribs or doing a full body stretch). I have been blessed with such a wonderful family and I can't wait to meet our new addition.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!!

Brenna has been anxiously awaiting the snow. She was so excited when we got our first big snowfall, especially since there was just enough to go sledding. She had fun going sledding with her daddy, although she had to wait until Saturday when he was off work. She also got to help him plow the driveway with the four-wheeler. I think if I let her she would be outside sledding all day. She can even carry the sled up by herself and go down the hill by herself, which is good when she wants to go when daddy's not home since its tough for me to try to trudge up and down the hill. She has been having tons of fun trying to build snowmen, making snow angels, and eating the snow. We told her to stay away from the yellow snow. We had a snowball fight one day and she thought that was the coolest thing, even though it was pretty much me just throwing snow at her and her running around laughing. It was a blast!!!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Ever since Brenna saw them setting things up in the mall for Santa she has been bugging us to go and see him. We took her last Wednesday to see him. At first she was shy and wouldn't say anything but then she warmed up to him. She told him she wanted presents. I was thinking "Sweet! I can just wrap empty boxes and then she'll be happy. What a cheap Christmas." But then she got particular. She wants her Tinkerbell movie, CareBears, Dolls, and a Dora movie. I think she's going to have a fun Christmas. She just likes to open presents, she doesn't really care what is in them. She'll be just as excited for the socks that I got her as she will for the dolls. I know, I know, enjoy it while it lasts. I know in a few more years she'll be throwing fits that she didn't get what she wanted and she'll hate everything. I'm excited for this holiday season. Brenna had fun opening presents last year, but this year she understand a lotmore of what is going on so she's more excited. I can't wait to see how she reacts to what we get her. I'm also excited for Jason's reaction to his present. I really spoiled him this year. I can't write what I got him because he actually reads this once in awhile. We're having a competition to see who spoiled who more. I think I'm going to win, for once. Unlike most guys he actually does a really good job at picking out gifts, especially since I never really give him ideas. I usually say giftcards or scrapbook stuff. I know it sounds like I'm all caught up in the wordly aspect of presents and Santa but I'm really now. My favorite part about this season, which is something I wish could go on all year long, is how much everyone remembers our Savior. It's the one time of year that everyone (most everyone) won't get upset at the mention of Jesus. In general, people try to be better and for a moment the world isn't so bad, and then December 26th (my anniversary by the way hits) and everyone forgets about Him. Our Savior did so much for us and continues to do so much for us that we need to remember everyday what He did, not just the month of December. I know it sounds cliche but we need to keep Christmas with us all through the year. I say we all celebrate Christmas again in June, except we don't have to get presents because right about then is when most of us have just barely finished paying off our credits cards that were racked up from Christmas.

32 weeks!!!

Yay!! I'm coming on the final stretch!!! Only 8 weeks left. My due date is the 31st of January but since I am having a c-section again I will be going in on the 22nd. I had yet another doctor appointment today. Now I get to go every 2 weeks. Everything is going well. The baby's heartbeat sounds really strong and the rest of him is definately getting stronger. He is moving/kicking/flipping/stretching all the time. Jason was laughing at me yesterday during church as I was leaning to the side and trying to push a foot or at least try to block it from getting into my ribs. Our little guy is a night owl too. He does his fair share of moving during the day but once about 8:00pm hits he's all over the place and he's going most of the night. Whenever I wake up to go to the bathroom....again, he's still going. It's usually a bounce on my bladder that wakes me up. I know it sounds like I'm complaining but I'm not. I love being able to feel him moving around. It keeps me assured that he's healthy and growing.

The leaves are falling!! The leaves are falling!!

With all the trees around our house, we get a ton of leaves. Usually they just lay on the ground until the snow covers them. Brenna likes to go outside and rake the leaves into a pile and then play in it. The piles that she rakes aren't usually that big so daddy and papa decided to help her out this year and make her a big pile. It started out as a little pile by her slide and she thought it was the coolest thing so slide down into the leaves. So daddy and papa raked a big pile of leaves by her slide and she had even more fun. It was funny to watch her slide down and almost get buried in the leaves. Later papa and daddy put all the leaves in a big pile and then lit them on fire. At first, Brenna was upset that they were burning her leaves, but then she pulled up the chairs next to it and pretended like she was camping.

Brenna visits the dentist

Today was Brenna's first trip to the dentist. I know, I'm a slacker for not getting her in sooner but we haven't had dental insurance till now. She was a really big girl. At first she was scared to sit in the chair by herself so I had to sit with her. She was okay until the dental assistant and the dentist had to put their masks on. For some reason she's scared of those. So she sat in my lap while the dentist checked her teeth. She was crying and scared but was still a big girl and opened her mouth and let the dentist look at her teeth. Right at the end, when the dentist brushed her teeth she got happy again. she has no cavities and has healthy teeth so I guess it wasn't too bad that I waited to take her in. She got a cool Blue's Clues toothbrush and Spongebob toothpaste. For being a big girl she got a certificate for a free kid's meal at Del Taco plus she got a token to get a toy out of one of their machines. Lucky girl.....all I get from the dentist is a lecture about flossing and a numb mouth.

Prego Pictures/Baby Update

I've been bugged about putting belly pictures up. I tried to take some, but they didn't work. Plus, I'm carrying this baby really low so I look funny. I remember with Brenna I carried her high but even when I wear my maternity shirts, I just end up looking chubby, maybe I'll have to post a picture sometime just to illustrate my point. But I am about 27 weeks so far. yay! And lucky for me, (If you're pregnat skip this part cuz I don't want you mad at me) I can still fit into a lot of my regular clothes. True, they don't look quite as cute as they did before, but in some of them I look almost normal and there's a few I can wear that I don't even look pregnant, just depending on the pants I'm wearing too. I still have a few pairs of jeans that I can fit into too!!! Now let's hope this means that after I have the baby I'll be able to fit into my old clothes and not look too funny, cuz I have some clothes that are way cute that I still want to be able to wear. We'll find out in a few more months. I had a doctor appointment on Monday. They did another ultrasound to check my fluids and she said everything looked great!!! She's no longer worried about my fluid levels. That is a huge relief for me. He is not a morning person. Everytime I have an ultrasound he doesn't want to move, but a couple hours later he's kicking up a stomr and doing all sorts of tricks. We also tried to get another shot making sure it's still a boy. He was being shy I guess and kept his legs crossed so we couldn't get a clear shot. The doctor said she saw enough views that it was a boy but couldn't get a good shot to take a picture. Oh well. We did get a lot of views of his face. I think he's going to be bigger than Brenna.

This shows his little face. You can see his eyes and nose and one of his little hands. I'm getting excited for January to come. It will be very interesting to see what kind of personality. It'll be big change for our family. Brenna's as the age where she can do a lot of things herself so it's going to take some getting used to and adjusting to have to do everything for a baby again. Luckily Brenna is at that age where she will be such a big helper and since she can do so much for herself it'll make it that much easier on me.

Trick-or-Treat, Smell My Feet!!!

Of course we took Brenna trick-or-treating. She had so much fun!!! The businesses in Morgan have the kids come trick-or-treating early in the afternoon so we took Brenna around to that. She got lots of good candy. The city was sponsoring a little carnival and a bunch of activities all night so we stopped by for the constume contest. All the little girls in Brenna's age category were dressed as cutsie witches, fairies, or princesses. And then we had Bumblebee. She was so cute, I mean cool!! But I guess the judges like the boring ol' cutsie stuff instead of little girls who didn't want to be like all the other girls. The winners were a fairy and a princess....who didn't see that one coming. I was disappointed. I thought that with constume contests the winners were usually unique and not dressed in the same costume as everyone else. Oh well....I know who the real winner was. After that we went to the trunk-or-treat and Brenna scored some more candy. By the end of the night she could only drag her bag....luckily we emptied it before we went to the trunk-or-treat. Brenna had so much fun this year for Halloween. I loved watching her face light up when she got a treat and when someone said something about her being Bumblebee. I admit, I tried to get her to dress as a witch or a fairy but she wanted nothing to do with it. She wanted to be a transformer. Way to go Brenna for not giving into pressuer from others. I hope she'll always be like that and stick to what she wants and not what others want. I hope she'll always not be afraid to be herself, even if it's not the same as what everyone else, may she always dare to be different.

It's Party Time!!

Brenna was invited to her first Halloween Party this year. It was from one of her friends in nursery. They are the ruling divas in nursery, according to all the teachers. They have so much fun together. They were inseparable at the Halloween Party. Brenna got to decorate cookies, play on a big blow up slide (like the kind they have at fairs) and drink lots of homemade root beer. They even got to trick-or-treat during the party. All the parents brought treats. She had so much fun!!!

Guaranteed Overnight Delivery

Brenna decided to play in a box and make a bed. She came up to me and said "Mom, I'm sleeping in the box tonight." At least now I know that there's a box that she can fit in so when I decided to ship her off to my mom she'll be comfy. =) I think if I emptied all of her toys out of her room and just put empty boxes in there she would be happy. Ever since she could crawl she's loved to play in them. She used to get into them, throw everything out and then climb in and look very pleased with herself. Some things don't change.

What they really teach students at the hospital

Jason is really loving his job at the hospital. He comes home with all sorts of stories....especially when he gets to help in the ER. I get to hear about reattaching limbs and gruesome car accidents. I guess it's a good thing I don't have a weak stomach and I'm over the whole morning sickness. Between work and student house he spends a lot of time there, which is a really good thing he likes it there. On the days that aren't so eventful they get to have some down time. So of course, he plays with the medical equipment. He brought some of the tape home and had fun playing with Brenna. They put tape over their mouths and tried talking. The funniest part was when he tried to laugh and he had tape over his mouth. His cheeks bulged out and I thought his eyes were going to pop out of his head. It was hilarious!!! And as I've said before, the only time I can take a picture of him is when he's doing something goofy or pulling a face. Now I know that if we ever mutated into pigs Jason and Brenna would still be cute, even though Jason looks a little bit diabolical. Now can you imagine what he's going to do with a little boy, who I'm sure will be just like his dad? I don't think our life will lack a dull moment.

Painting Pumpkins

What's Halloween season without painting pumpkins? So of course we got a pumpkin for Brenna to decorate. I don't like to cut pumkins cuz after you carve them they go rotten really fast, so I decided to let her paint one. Which she had a lot of fun doing. I gave her the paints and told her to paint it however she wanted. Her finished masterpiece was a pretty colorful pumpkin. She's been having fun the past week with Halloween crafts. We've makea witch, ghost, bat, spider, a pumkin, and a paper bag pumkin.

My future chef!!

Since I have more free time, I can go back to indulging in making cookies. I made these really good cookies one day, chocolate crinkles, and Jason took most of them to work with him and the rest, most of them went to the ladies I visit teach. So of course I had to make more. Brenna wanted to be a big helper. She did such a good job. She poured in all the ingredients, and even mixed them (I had to help after a bit with that part). After the cookies chilled in the fridge, she helped roll them in powdered sugar and then roll them into balls. They turned out yummy!!!!

My wonderful husband

So whenever I try to get a picture of Jason he always does something to ruin the picture. He usually sticks his finger up his nose or puts something just enough over his face that it ruins it. Well, I actually got a picture of him that he wanted me to take....but it wasn't much better. We were visiting his cousin in the hospital and decided to play around with the gloves.......I know.....I know....I live with him.

Trying to stop being a slacker

I know that I was a slacker and only did a few blog posts on this, but my new goal is to keep it updated. I should, hopefully, have the time to at least do it once a month or week. So here's the 411 on what's gone on the past year:

Life has been pretty uneventful up until the past few months. We are going to be adding another member to our family. He will be making is public debut in January. I am due the 31st. I have to have a c-section, since I had one with Brenna. My doctor says she'll do it the week before I'm due, the 21st or 22nd. It's kinda weird knowing when he'll be here. Everything is going good so far. At one of my early ultrasounds the doctor said my fluid looked a little. She told me drink as much water as I could and then come back in 2 weekds and she'd recheck. I dont think I've ever drank as much water before. I seriously contemplating just ahuling everything in the bathroom and camping out for a couple weeks. When I went back into the doc's she said everything looked better and that she'll just double check it again at my next appointment in a month, but she wasn't worried. He has been plenty active the past few weeks. I think he's going to be like me and love pb&j sandwiches. Everytime I eat one he goes crazy. Brenna is getting excited about having a little brother. It's a good thing she's not a girly-girl because she wants to share all her toys with him. Luckily, she mainly wants to share blocks, books, watch Transformers, ride 4-wheelrs, and go to the zoo with him.
Life is pretty good now. I get to stay home with Brenna. Due to stuff that happened at the daycare with how they were treating both me and Brenna I decided to call it quits a few months early. I had planned on staying until the beginning of December. But now I get to hang out. Brenna loves having her mommy home and draws me lots of pictures all day and loves to have me read book after book after book after book.......
Jason is going to school at Weber State for Radiology. He spends alot of time at the hospital but he loves it! he'll be finished in about a year and a half. yay!!!
That's pretty much it for right now. So let's see how I do at keeping up this time around.
