Reminiscing

I decided to transfer all the pictures I have onto one computer...they are currently on 3, maybe 4 since I think my mom may have some too.  As I was going through them I started remembering back when my Brenna Kay was a lot younger.  Such a cute little baby!!!

One of the few pictures I have with her, and that is because I took it myself.

\
I loved her little pigtails!!  She either looked like a bug or this was the beginning of her little horns =)
This was her first Halloween.  She was Baby Pebbles.

Such a little poser!!

I think I almost have the same picture of Ian.  This is her first time eating baby food.  It was carrots.  Yum!!!

I think both of my kids have had a fascination with climbing in the fridge.

Her favorite play spot was in the sink.  I would put her there while I got ready and would be happy as a clam!

Look at those rolls!!!

I guess she was hungry.......

Now that's why Ian's mischievous look is so familiar!!  This was right before she took all the DVD's off the shelf.

No I did not shove her face in the cake!  I turned around and when I turned back she was face down and munching away!!  That's how it's done for a first birthday!!!

My little girl was such a cutie!  She was full of spunk from day one...and I think she's only gotten more (as I'm doing this she is throwing a fit because I told her she had to take a nap in her room, not on the couch)
As big of a pain as she can be at times, and I am definitely not looking forward to the teenage years with her, I love her with all my heart!  She is my little sweetheart.  I can't believe she is almost 5 already!!  When I got pregnant with her, it was a surprise (not an accident, I hate it when people say that!)  We had planned on waiting till I was done with school, which I had 2 years left.  Then all of a sudden I started feeling sick and it wouldn't go away.  At first I just thought I was coming down with something.  Then one day I was talking to my mom and I told her I hadn't been feeling good the past few days and she told me to go take a test.  The thought had never dawned on me that I would be pregnant, but lo and behold there were 2 pink lines.  Even though we weren't planning on her, I am so glad she came when she did.  She has brought so much joy to our lives and I couldn't imagine it without her.  She is one of the greatest examples to me.  She is always reminding us to read scriptures and say prayers.  She also is a great example of loving those around you, regardless of how they decided to lead their lives.  She is so accepting of everyone!!! I love my little girl!!!  I hope I can have a close relationship with her as she grows and that one day she will consider me not just her mom, but her friend.

Lickin' the beaters

I was making cookies and my usually beater licker was asleep (Brenna) so I found an alternaitve to fill in.  He was already strapped in his chair so I thought, why not?

As soon as I gave it to him he knew jsut what to do.  He is definately my child since that is one of my favorite things to do.

Here he is practically licking it clean.  Too bad he didn't keep himself clean...oh well =)

I think he likes it!!!!

I guess now I have two beater lickers....I'll have to be content with the spoon and bowl. =)

Disney on Ice

On Friday we got to take the kids to "Disney on Ice: Worlds of Fantasy."  I have been wanting ot go see a Disney on Ice show for awhile and when this one came to town, featuring Tinkerbell, I figured it would be the perfect one to go to.  Brenna LOVES Tinkerbell!!
So once we were on our way down, I realized I left my camera at home.  Boo!!  But I did have my cell phone, which has a camera so I was ble to capture a few pictures.  Now, my cell phone camera isn't the best and when it was dark all you would see was the spotlights on the skaters, not the skaters.

The show opened with Mickey and Minnie driving around, then their car breaks down.  Who better to the rescue than Mater and the gang?!

Ian was completely entranced by the cars!  He loved them!!!  But as the show started winding down, so did he.......
This was Ian by intermission.  I guess all the excitement wore him out.

Before the show they had a little pre-show where you could see the Disney Princesses in their dresses.  They made it sound like you would get to see most of the princesses, but they only had 2.  They had all the dresses on display, just not the princess inside them.  I was disappointed.  But we still got pictures of the ones that were there.  They had Cinderella, and Princess Tiana (from Princess and the Frog).  Brenna was excited to see them though.

"I was just chewed out by a guy with a lisp"

As most of you know, my hubby can be a trouble maker sometimes.  As we were waiting to get in, we were downstairs by the ticket office, inside.  The upstairs doors were still locked.  So Jason decided to go up in the elevator.  We get up there and then this little old lady chews us out as soon as the elevator doors open that we can't be there and blah blah blah.  So we go back down and wait patiently to get in.  Once inside, we had a bunch of time to waste waiting for the show to start.  They had a bunch of the seats behind the stage empty so Jason decided to go explore.  He went over to the seats that overlook the back of the stage.  He was showing Brenna the cars and stuff back there when one of the workers, the one who shows where your seat is, came over to him and started chewing him out.  Now, I don't want to offend anyone, but how serious can you take someone chewing you out when they have a serious lisp?  It was kinda funny.

This was me trying to take a picture of me and my cute girl together.  I look really weird and if you look at my teeth I almost look like I have vampire fangs.  I guess I'm getting into the "Twilight" craze =)
Here was Brenna's favorite part of the show!  Tinkerbell!!  You can kinda see Tink in the middle, skating with Terrance(Tink's fairy friend)  The whole second half of the show was dedicated to Tinkerbell.  They did a pretty good job of it.  You can tell though that some of the skaters aren't professionals.  Since the Olympics just happened and I like to watch the figure skating I was still in that mode a little.  They did a pretty good job though.  The girl who portrayed Tink is from Utah and we met her Grandma.  She was so proud of her.
Here is Jason and Ian hanging out.  I didn't think Jason would have a good time, since he loves figure skating so much (insert the very heavy sarcasm with that remark).  But he had a good time.

This was a fun, family time.  It has been awhile since we've gone to something as a family.  We all had fun!!!

New Place Continued

This is the outside of our townhouse.  Ours is the door open.  I know it doesn't look like it would have a lot of room, but they do.

So now we've been in our new place for a few days and I have everything unpacked. Yay!! Our living room is pretty much set up. I love having room for all our stuff, especially our big huge couch that is so comfy...at least it was when we had it in Logan but I haven't had a chance to really sit down and relax on it yet. Our room will be done in the next day or two. Our dresser broke so we had to get a new one and they're delivering it today so as soon as I get it I can get to work. We don't have TV set up yet, which hasn't been as bad as I thought. It's been kinda nice to not have that distraction. Maybe that's why I've gotten so much done the past few days. Now I just have to call the school and figure out what needs to be done to get Brenna ready and registered for preschool, figure out what time and where church is on Sunday, and wait for the post office to hurry and get our keys to our mailbox, and then I might be set for a little while.

Here is my kitchen and dining room area.  It's bigger than it looks.  I'm still trying to figure out some cute decorations for the walls in the dining area (you can't see them in the picture)

This is our back wall decorations.  I need to add something else to the "Family" sign but I can't figure out what.  If you have any ideas, let me know.

I got Brenna's room all decorated and it looks so cute!! I think I'm reliving my childhood through her since I never got a cutsie decorated room I'm doing it with her.
This is the Brenna's room.  If you disregard the mess, it is pretty cute.  It was clean yesterday when I did all the decorations, but between her and Ian playing, it's not so clean anymore.  She has a ton of carebears that I need to figure out what to do with.  We have a hanging net but it keeps falling down.  I don't want a ton of holes in the walls so we tried putting it up with the hooks you stick to the wall and they didn't work so well.  as soon as I figure out the carebear situation her room will be done.  yay!!!

This is our nice, big, comfy couch!  I love it!!  At our old apartment in Logan it was too big for our living room so we had to take the center piece out.  It's so nice to have it all in one piece.
This is our fireplace.  Jason was excited for that.  He's wanted one ever since we moved to Utah, and now we get one right as the weather is turning nice and we won't need it.  oh well.
This is my little guys room. It's not finished yet. Ian's room so far just has some cool curtains....I'm not as creative with boys rooms. I have some Transformer decals to put on the walls and I want to put a cool vinyl quote(haven't decided which yet) on the wall so that'll spruce it up a bit.  I'm much better with girlie decorations than boys so anyone who has little boys...any ideas would be great but I usually don't go for character themed room since kids interests change so quickly.  I don't want to be changing everything in a few months.

It funny that the kids have their own rooms but most of the time they are still playing with each other in the other room.  Ian loves to go in Brenna's room.  If her door is shut, he knocks on it and yells at her until she opens it.  They have lots of fun playing together.  I hope that us having our own space with helps us grow closer as a family and get our butts in gear about eating dinner together as a family, at a table, having FHE, and getting along better.

Our own place!!!!

Yay!!  It finally happened!!  We finally moved out of my dad's place and got our place.  I am super excited!!!!  It is a 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bathroom, 3 level, with fireplace, townhouse in North Ogden.   I am so excited to be able to get our stuff out of boxes, which have been stored in the attic for the past almost 4 years.  We get our nice, big couch out!  Jason is excited to take naps on it again.  I get to decorate the kids' room.  I think that's the part I love the most.  Plus we have our own place to lock out the drama when we don't want it around.  The kids get their own rooms, but I know they'll still be playing together and just have 2 rooms to make a disaster area of now.
