Nap time!

My sister was getting Brenna ready for a nap today and decided to lay down with her. After a few minutes I heard Ian cry (he was sleeping in his bassinet) and then he was quiet for awhile. When I went to check on him I peeked in Brenna's room and discovered why he was being so quiet. He is nice and cozy! Brenna is so sweet and even gives him loves while she is sleeping. THey are both such cuttlebugs. I bet that whenever he learns to walk or crawl out of his bed he'll crawl in bed with his big sister. She always wants me lay Ian in bed with her but she moves around so much that I don't think that would be a good idea, even for a little nap.

Pictures and Ian update

Here are the pictures from the cute St. Patrick's Day shirts Jason's parents got for the kids. His parents usually send something for each holiday. They usualy put Brenna's name on the box and she gets so excited because she has mail (so easy to please her). For Valentine's Day they've sent cookie decorating stuff and for Halloween she's gotten Halloween books and treats. I think it's a great idea that they do that, that way they show their love all year long and not just on birthdays or Christmas.

This was Brenna's shirt. She was so excited to wear it because it was sparkly!
"Mommy's lucky charm" This was Ian's shirt. He is definately my lucky charm. That little roll of skin you see about his shirt, that's his double chin. He's turning into a chunky little guy, but he's still adorable!!!

Little Ian had his 2-month check up on Monday. He is 11 lbs. 2 oz and 22
inches long. He has grown a lot!!! he has almost doubled his weight now. Yay!! He is holding his head up pretty good now and loves to lay on me or Jasonon our chest and then he pushes himself up so he can watch us. He is smiling all the time with the biggest grins. That little smile is going to get him out of trouble and in trouble (out of trouble with me and in trouble with the ladies when he's older). Whenever he smiles he looks like he is going to bust out in a laugh, but not yet. He has giggled in his sleep a few times and we're jsut waiting to hear it when he's awake. I can't wait. We ahve discovered that he is definately a morning person. Right when he wakes up is when he is the happiest. I am happy to report that he has been sleeping a little bit better the past few nights. we have been laying him on his side with the blankets tucked around him and that has beenworking pretty good. Let's cross our fingers that it keeps working and soon he'll sleep all night long, or least for 5 or 6 hours in a row. Brenna is sstill doing so good a beinga big sister. She loves to help with her brother. If I am busy doing something and he starts crying she'll come tell me and then she'll go talk to him and try and get him to not cry and if that doesn't work she tries to put his pacifier in his mouth. She is such a ig helper!! She has grown up so much the past few months. She's nto so little anymroe and she's well on her way to turning into a little lady. I can't believe that she's almost 4 already. I'm not old enough (mature enough) to have a 4 year old. I really don't know what I would do without her. Whenever I feel sad she always comes up to me and gives me a hug and tells me it will be okay and that she's here and she'll never leave me. When she does something sweet like that it just makes me want to cry more, but for a different reason. I have been so incredibly blessed to have these two little munchkins in my life. I don't know what I did to deserve them, but it must have been something I did in the premortal life because I can't think of anything I've done here to merit such a blessing. Without them right now, and my wonderful hubby of course, I would be lost.
My sister has been staying with us for the past few weeks and it has made me even more thankful for the choice I made 12 years ago to join the Church. She has made a lot choices in her life that haven't been exactly the wisest and is currently struggling with a drinking problem. It is tearing apart her relationship with her kids and the rest of us. I am so thankful for the council of lprophets that help guide and direct our lives and if we follow what we say me can avoid hardships like that. I am also thankful that I have a husband who holds and honors the priesthood and covenants he has made with our HeavenlyFather. I never have to worry about when he has to stay late at work what the real reason is, I know it is really to work. I have seen how distrust can ruin a relationship and I am so glad I don't have to worry about that in my marriage.
Sorry that this is such a long and wordy post, I promise to have some more fun pictures soon. With some things that have been going recently around me I just have to express my gratitude to everyone and my Heavenly Father for all I have. I am truly blessed with my little family.

Too sleep or not to sleep.....

Little Ian has decided that 1 or 2 in the morning is the perfect time to be awake and wanting to play.....mommy doesn't agree with that decision. About a week ago he tricked me by only waking up once or twice for a few nights in a row....but then he changed his mind and decided that 5 or 6 is a better number. Last night he was being a real stinker and would wake up everytime we put him down in the bassinet. I even tried turning on the vibrating part of it, I put him the swing, let him sleep naked (he loves being naked....he'll have a fun summer!), and I even let him lay with me put he was still very restless. He likes to do this at least a couple times a week.....hopefully he won't be like his sister and never sleep through the night. I think she slept through the night once before she was 2. so if anyone has any good ideas to try, I'm all ears.

My computer is being funky right now so I can't post any pictures but I have some cute ones from St. Patrick's Day. Jason's parents sent some cute little shirts for the kids so of course I have pictures of them. Hopefully I'll be able to get them posted soon.

Life has been kinda hectic in our life for the past couple weeks. My sister just moved back to Utah and is staying at our house/my dad's house. That house is crowded with just us and you add 4 more people to the mix and it is bursting at the seams. It is nice being able to spend time with her and my niece and nephew but I miss the quiet and we had jsut started getting a routine with Brenna and Ian going, especially with nap times, and that has kinda gone out the window. Oh well.....we'll get back on track here in a week or two. Anyway...that is our update for right now and I will post pictures as soon as I can. Don't forget to leave any advice.

Cute pictures!!!

On Friday we went to my friend Dallas' house and she did a little photo shoot of my cute little munchkins. I think she did such a great job and they look about as good as what we could have gotten at a photo studio, plus we get to keep all the shots, not just the first 5 or 6 that we like.

Ian was in such a happy mood while we were doing the pictures. I was worried that we would only get a few shots off and then he'd get cranky and we'd be done. He was a real trooper and stayed awake during them and all, and even flashed a few of his adorable smiles.
Brenna loves getting her picture taken. She was such a cute and almost posed herself most of the time. She wasn't quite as patient with us as Ian was because there were lots of fun toys that she wanted to go play with. All of her pictures turned out so cute so I guess it was okay that we didn't get to take as many of them.
Of course I had to get some pictures of them together! We did these at the end so by this time both kids were getting a little antsy so we were able to get as many shots but we did get a few cute ones. Those are two very cute kids....they must have good lookin' parents ;)

While we were doing the pictures Dallas' cute little guy wanted to be in them. He was so cute. As soon as Dallas got everything set up for the pictures he plopped down right in themiddle and looked at Dallas' with his cheeser grin. He was ready for his pictures. She loves taking pictures of him so he is used to and knows the drill....pluss he loves getting his picture taken too. So he didn't feel left out we had to take a picture of him and Brenna together. He wasn't very happy that someone else was getting their picture taken. What a cutie!!

The pictures turned out very cute and I don't have enough room to post all of them on here. Thank you so much Dallas for doing this for me!!! It was tons of fun!!

Ian's Blessing

On Sunday, March 1st we blessed our little guy, or I should say Jason did. Time has sure flown by. It seemed like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital and now he's already almost 6 weeks old. He is growing like a weed. We weighed him the other day and he's now about 10 pounds. I'm glad now that I didn't buy a bunch of 0-3 month clothes because he's already almost out of most of them. As for Sunday......It was a beautiful blessing. I loved hearing a little bit of what our Heavenly Father has in store for Ian. He was a very good boy and didn't cry at all. I am so thankful that I have a husband who is worthy to hold the priesthood and administer blessings whenever they are needed. It's also wonderful that we have so many worthy priesthood holders in our family and that are friends that were able to join in. Thank you everyone!! Ian looked so handsome in his little white tux. Jason's Aunt Lisa made it for him. She is an amazing seamstress!!! She made a cute little dress for Brenna when Brenna was a baby and I thought it was one that she bought in a store, but I found out later that it was actually one she had made. I wish that was a talent I had but, alas, my sewing is limited to sewing on a button and maybe patching a hole. Anyways....it was a beautiful day and I am thankful for our friends and family who were able to join in it with us.

Also, Jason's brother Dallin and his wife Sara came and stayed with us for the weekend so they could be here for Ian's blessing. They live in Nevada near Vegas. It was fun having them here. Brenna loved having them around and was so excited to show them all of her toys, plus she was super excited that they brought her presents (such a spoiled little girl!!).

On Friday we are going to do a little photo shoot of Ian and Brenna with my friend Dallas. She takes super cute pictures of her little guy and of all the litle kids in her family so I decided to enlist her talents. So stay tuned and we'll get some super cute pictures on here of my two little rugrats.
