I'm sorry to have to tell everyone this......wait, not I'm not....MY KIDS ARE CUTER THAN YOURS!!!!!! Sorry...I have to indulge in some mommy-bragging every now and then, but when you are blessed with as cute of kids as me, you're allowed. I love my kids to death. They bring so much joy to my life. Brenna is constant form of entertainment. Ian is changing all the time and I love seeing his personality emerge...he is going to be a handful. As hard and frusrating as it can be at times it is worth every second of it to see that gummy grin of Ian's or have Brenna come up to me out of the blue and say "I love you, Mommy. You're the best mom in the whole world."
Here's a glimpse into our crazy life =) But I wouldn't trade it for anything else!!!

Mommy's Little Helper
My daughter is very strange. She likes to clean (except her room). Whenever I am cleaning she gets mad if I don't let her help me. She will just randomly go clean the bathroom sink or want to sweep the kitchen floor. I hope this is a trait that sticks with her for many years to come. We've started doing a chore chart with her and whenever she fills it up she gets to go on a date with dad or go with mom. So far she hasn't wanted to go with mom. She likes going on dates with dad.....lucky girl...I don't even get to go dates with him.
Summer Fun!!!
We went swimming at the pool at my sister's apartment complex. Ian wasn't a fan of the water because it was a bit cold, but he did take a nice snooze. He looked so cute in his little swim shorts. He reminds me of those guys you see on the beach with no tan and a pot belly but still strutting their stuff. He's going to be a regular beach bum. Hopefully when it's warmer he'll like itmore. He loves playing in his bath water so I'm sure he'll like the pool too.
This was the first time that Brenna got to swim by herself (with arm floaties of course) and she had a blast. She figured out the whole swimming thing pretty good and had no problem propelling herself around the pool. She didn't want to come out of the water once she was in. She kept pretending that we were all different animals and then she would come rescue us. It was so cute. I can't wait till it warms up and she can get a lot more practice in swimming.
Ian doesn't like the sun shining in his eyes so we picked up some cool shades for him. He actually likes wearing them and smiles as soon as we put them on him and doesn't even try to pull them off.

Yummy!!! The past few weeks we've started Ian on baby food, he's been eating cereal for about 2 months now. His favorite is sweet peas. He wolfes down a whole jar of it. He also likes green beans and mixed veggies. I slipped him a taste of my mashed potatoes one day and he couldn't get enough of those. I also let him try some of my banana and boy was he excited for that one. He does really well with eating the baby food and usually doesn't spit it out, except when I took the picture but of course you have to have a messy face when you take a picture of a baby eating.
Dentist visit
Brenna had to go to the dentist to get some fillings done. She was not a happy camper today. I just barely got her to the point that she was fine having the dentist brush her teeth and now she had have this. She is the type of girl that freaks out at new things so I knew this was going to be a hard thing for her. I was going to stay in the room with her but Ian was fussy so I had to go out so settle him down. I told them when I left the room that she was going to freak out as soon as she heard the drill or they tried anything, but they didn't believe me. I felt so bad for her because I could hear her crying but I couldn't do anything for her. That is the worse thing for a mom, when you hear your child crying and you can't do anything about it. Well, to make matters worse, what started out as just a little filling on one of her back teeth turned into them having to put a cap on it. Poor girl =(. She had a really hard time this morning, not to mention being really out of it from the medicine they gave her that was supposed to calm her down (didn't work too well though). But I am happy to report that she is fine now and she thinks her silver tooth is cool because now she has a pirate tooth in her mouth. I'm just glad it's in the back so you can't see it when she smiles and talks. Hopefully she'll not get freaked out at going to the dentist next time for a check-up.
